The Mercedes F1 Team, officially known as Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, is one of the most successful and dominant teams in Formula 1 history. Based in Brackley, UK, Mercedes re-entered F1 as a works team in 2010 and quickly rose to prominence, especially with the introduction of the hybrid era in 2014. Since then, they have gone onto win eight Constructors’ Championship titles and seven Drivers’ Championships with Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton.
The F1 Halo is a titanium safety device introduced in 2018 to protect drivers from head injuries in Formula 1 and other open-wheel racing series. It consists of a curved bar mounted above the cockpit, forming a protective ring around the driver's head.
Initially met with scepticism due to concerns about visibility and aesthetics, the Halo has since proven its worth by saving lives in several high-profile accidents. Its ability to deflect large debris, prevent contact with barriers, and shield the driver in rollovers has made it a critical safety feature, significantly enhancing driver protection in the sport.
The 2024 Mercedes replica halo is a special piece of memorabilia for us at F1 Authentics as we have come together with the official Mercedes Formula 1 team to bring this piece to you. The halo is made in house by our team of former F1 engineers to create a 1:1 replica of the halo’s used by the team. The halo was then sent to the Mercedes team in Brackley, who have painted the piece using the exact same process and paints used on the W15.
