McLaren’s success on track is no mystery. With the team producing competitive cars and strategically putting masterful drivers behind the wheels since their humble beginnings in 1963, the team are not unfamiliar with the taste of victory.

This is an exquisite and rather unusual table. From first glance it looks like a tyre; just like a slick used by the teams during races. However, with closer inspection you’ll find it’s not a tyre at all, but a carbon fibre construction, built to create this illusion. Although you’d never see a tyre like this on the track, it poses the question...what was it made for? 

Handed over to us directly from McLaren, the race team have kept most details a secret, other than the fact this carbon wheel and its counterparts were once used on a Show Car. Where was this Show Car used? This remains hidden. 

Only four of these gems were made worldwide. Their story may be untold, but their exclusivity is undeniable. One of these wheels has already been claimed by the team themselves, with them deeming them too good to let go of.  Another is headed to the Vegas Grand Prix where who know's what it will fetch at auction. The other two...well, they’re available to you.
