The MAC-26 is the car that turned General Motors’ long-declared Formula One® ambition into a physical Grand Prix machine. It was shaped around a clean-sheet design and new aerodynamic demands. General Motors is used to shooting for the stars, an engineering powerhouse that has used learnings from the Apollo program to deliver the F1 project to incredible deadlines. The ambition of the team is personified by the foundation of a company that can boast to have made a car driven beyond the earth.
Results aside, the MAC-26’s significance lies in its construction: a first Cadillac-built Formula 1® chassis, carrying the United States identity into a discipline defined by precision, compromise and relentless development.
This Show Car reflects that same pursuit of detail-led progress, with a carbon fibre monocoque and bodywork, official Pirelli tyres, functional steering wheel display and buttons and fully movable wheels. Further refinement comes through features including rear lighting, a heat-treated exhaust and a newly developed halo.
