George Russell has been in sensational form since the Mercedes team brought an upgrade package to Monaco, and there was no difference at the Red Bull Ring. Having put together a fantastic lap in qualifying, Russell lined up in third. 

He briefly challenged Norris for second, before falling back slightly. Russell drove the perfect race as he did great laps all the way through and didn’t put a foot out of line the entire race. 

When Norris and Verstappen’s fight became a bit too physical, Russell was in the prime position to swoop through and take full advantage of the situation at hand. Russell had Oscar Piastri hounding him in his faster McLaren, but thankfully for George he managed to hold on to the lead to the chequered flag.
