Story

In 2015, Max Verstappen became the youngest ever driver to compete in the Formula One Championship, racing for Red Bull’s junior team, Scuderia Toro Rosso. Achieving promotion in his second season into the Red Bull Racing senior team. the STR10 was the car in which it all began. The rest is history.

Toro Rosso built a total of four STR10 cars for the Formula 1 racing season in 2015. Verstappen drove the majority of his first season competing in this very car, the STR10-02, with 13 of the 19 GPs and the pre-season winter tests in Spain.

It is believed that the STR10-03 is owned by Max himself, in which he drove the first 6 GPs, and this is sometimes displayed in his fan shop in the Netherlands. After his crash in Monaco, he was deployed chassis #2 (this car) where he went on to score points in 9 races including his best results of the season, achieving 4th place in both Hungary and the United States Grand Prix

You can now own the car Max Verstappen used to show the world what he was capable of. The dawn of a motorsport legend.

A Significant Car in Toro Rosso History

The Scuderia Toro Rosso STR10-02 represents a key chassis from the Faenza team’s tenth Formula One car programme. The car was unveiled on 31 January 2015 at the Jerez circuit, one day before winter testing began, where Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr. started their debut F1® season.

As the second Toro Rosso car to be powered by Renault, the STR10 marked a technical step forward for the team and introduced two of the sport’s most exciting young drivers to the grid. Team Principal Franz Tost described the STR10 as the best car the team had produced at that time, benefitting from improved processes, lessons learned from earlier seasons and a stronger Renault power unit that addressed shortcomings from 2014. The updated FIA nose regulations also played a major role in shaping the STR10’s long and lower profile, while reorganised internal packaging allowed for more streamlined sidepods.

Technical Director James Key highlighted how ambitious the car’s development cycle was, saying at launch: “It will look quite different by the time we get to Race 1. We've got several very new ideas which have gone into it, which the team is exploring for the first time, which makes it an interesting project. We've pushed the limits of timing much more with STR10 than with passed cars and we're dealing with it really well. We have a pretty aggressive plan for development. We'll turn up to Race 1 with a fundamentally different car to the one we run in testing."

Concours Condition

The STR10-02 was purchased directly by its current owner in 2019 directly from the Red Bull-owned team, Toro Rosso. The car comes with full documentation, purchase contract from Red Bull Toro Rosso, and uniquely, a 60-page reference book has been produced in cooperation with Toro Rosso and a notable F1 journalist, detailing every race with personal comments from Max Verstappen himself.

The car is extremely complete and comes fitted with the powertrain (1.6L Renault Energy F1-2015, V6 Turbo) installed, however the internals have been removed, as to the battery pack and ECU. The car features the original steering wheel with real travel case and full digital explanation of the steering wheel functions, a very rare feature of modern F1 cars. Max’s original race seat is also fitted along with complete suspension, radiators, wiring, complete gearbox, pedals, seat belts, bodywork, wheels, brakes and more.
