Story

The FW19 was British team Williams Racing’s competitor for the 1997 F1® season and was driven by Jacques Villeneuve and Heinz-Harald Frentzen. It was a highly successful year and a significant one too. Jacques Villeneuve went on to claim his first and only Drivers’ World Championship, meanwhile the team achieved the Constructors’ Championship crown. It marked Williams Racing’s last World title to date, making the FW19 a car to remember.

The car was a development of its predecessors, the FW18, which won both titles with ease in 1996. The FW19 was also the final car to receive input from Adrian Newey before he joined McLaren. The car was designed to be lighter and stiffer than the one before, and used Elf fuel, Castrol oil and Penske shock absorbers with AP Racing carbon disc brakes.
